My
love for animals - specially dogs, has been with me all my
life. My first little dog (a Pekingese) and I spent
hours on end, cycling along the cement paths around our home
and we were inseparable. The special bond between a
child and their dog is truly magical and I cherish the
unconditional love my dogs and I share. When the outside
world becomes 'too big', it does wonders for the soul to
snuggle up to those furry little bodies and be reminded of just
what the best things in life really are.
I
am delighted that our granddaughter Taryn also shares a special bond with
Nanny's woofers
so it must be in the blood!
Since
my love affair with Cavaliers began in 1993, we have shared
our home and our hearts with some very special little
companions. We love our Cavaliers dearly and they are
treasured family members. We don't have outside kennels
as they all live inside with us, free to romp and explore
outside via their doggy door. They
enjoy
frolicking on our beach (on extenda-leads), swimming in
summer and daily local walks all year round.
Cavaliers
are just the most wonderful, devoted companions. Beware
though - they are addictive and it can be terribly hard
to stop at just one!

Our
Cavaliers also have some memorable achievements in the show
ring and I invite you to read about them on the following
pages, along with viewing my dogs' photographs and pedigrees.
I
strive to breed and show quality, healthy Cavaliers excelling
in breed type, conformation and soundness, along with that
wonderful temperament that makes our breed so irresistible!
Hence, since the commencement of my breeding program in 2000, I have bred just
nine litters (one a year except for 2005 when we welcomed
two). My focus is on maintaining a small, select kennel,
striving for "Quality" not "Quantity".
There are eight Karhisar Australian
Champions, including three from our very
first litter! I am very proud of the success I have had
with such a small number of dogs.
I
am totally committed to addressing hereditary problems within
our breed. My Cavaliers are examined and certified at
the yearly South Australian Cavalier Club Heart Clinics.
Patellae &
eyes are checked annually.
I am
a member of the South Australian, Victorian, Queensland and U.K. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Clubs.
My Cavaliers were proudly featured for the very first time, in
the 2002 UK Cavalier Club Yearbook and continue to feature
every year since. They are also proudly
featured in the NSW Cavalier Club Yearbooks.
